Brendan Burke
Project Director, Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS), PEO EIS, U.S. Army

Mr. Brendan Burke was appointed the Project Director for Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) in April 2011. In this capacity Mr. Burke provides flexible procurement strategy through which Army users procure IT hardware, software, and services via IT e-mart, the Army's e-commerce site. CHESS works diligently with its knowledge management partners including the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO)/G-6, the Information Systems Engineering Command (ISEC), Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM)/9th Signal Command and Army Contracting Command - National Capital Region (ACC-NCR) to provide architecturally sound, standards-and-policy-compliant IT Enterprise solutions to the Army around the world.

Prior to his selection as the Project Director, Mr. Burke served as the Deputy Project Director as well as a Software Product Leader with overall responsibility for several Department of Defense Enterprise Software Initiatives (ESI) and Army-wide Enterprise Licenses Agreements. Mr. Burke began his civil service career as a Contracting Officer with U.S. Army CECOM Life Cycle Management Command (CECOM LCMC). Prior to civil service Mr. Burke was a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Air Force, serving in various positions within the contracting field.

Mr. Burke received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Operations Research from the United States Air Force Academy. He received a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Burke is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps with Level III certification in both Program Management and Contracting.

He and his wife, Sharon, reside in Virginia with their two daughters.
