Robert Hartman
Senior Security Engineer, McAfee

Rob Hartman has more than ten years experience in working on Large Scale Security Architectures. Prior to joining McAfee, Rob held lead security architecture roles with the Department of Defense's Research and Engineering Network (DREN), the Department of Defense's High Performance Computing Modernization Program Office (DOD HPCMPO), the Department of Treasury's Financial Management Service, and the Department of Navy's Smartlink WAN.

Rob was the Lead Security Architect for Costa Rica's eGovernment initiative, a key advisor to Costa Rica's Secretary of Science and Technology on the secure implementation of the country's backbone network, and the lead computer security advisor to Costa Rica's Secretary of Justice in order to secure the country's land and property database. While at DREN, Robert led the evaluation, development, and implementation of the DREN Joint Sensor System which consisted of McAfee NTR, WAN Performance Tools, and DHS S&T funded research projects. Robert has briefed at organizations such as the House Armed Service Committee, National Science Foundation, military research labs, Costa Rican Presidential Cabinet, and various universities on advanced threats and mitigation techniques. Robert lives in Arlington, VA and enjoys traveling the Americas, India, and Europe.
