Michael Duffy
Chief Operating Officer, DRT Strategies and former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Systems and Chief Information Officer, Department of the Treasury

Michael Duffy is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for DRT Strategies, Inc. (DRT), a certified 8(a) management consulting firm and leading provider of information technology, program management, and financial management services. As COO, Mr. Duffy leads DRT’s day-to-day operations for internal processes as well as client engagements for Federal and Commercial contracts requiring his expertise in information technology.  

Prior to joining DRT Strategies, Mr. Duffy served 23 years in the Federal civil service, with over a decade in the Senior Executive Service.  From 2007-2010, Mr. Duffy served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Prior to his appointment as CIO at the Treasury, Mr. Duffy served for 15 years at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) where he developed the Department’s law enforcement information sharing strategy, managed DOJ’s  tactical wireless communications system, and led Department-wide telecommunications services and information management and security programs. 

In the course of his Federal executive career, Mr. Duffy was honored with several awards for meritorious service.  Mr. Duffy joined the Federal service in 1987 as a Presidential Management Intern at the Department of Health and Human Services. 

Mr. Duffy earned a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Massachusetts and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College.
