Fran Trentley is the Senior Director of Akamai Global Security and Government Services. He is responsible for overseeing Akamai In the Cloud (ITC) Security Services providing DDoS mitigation, remote authorization and visualization services for global private and public sector customers. Fran is responsible for the development and training of security service personnel involved in the identification, defense & response to network based attacks against Akamai customer assets. His scope also includes support to over a hundred U.S. Government customers with Internet based services as well as Intranet based services delivered from parallel Akamai instantiations on DoD internal networks. Fran Trentley is a distinguished combat veteran with over 20 years of military experience. With both a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science Degree in Computer Science, he has had assignments integrating intelligence support systems at the Defense Intelligence Agency, C4ISR systems for U.S. Army and converged VIP communications at the White House Communications Agency (WHCA). Serving as WHCA’s Chief Information Officer Fran was responsible for the most comprehensive technology modernization effort in the Agency’s history and is a Hall of Fame inductee.
