Susan Zeleniak

Susan Zeleniak is Senior Vice President for Verizon Public Sector. In her current role, she is responsible for sales and customer satisfaction for numerous federal, state, and local government agencies. She is responsible for the strategic direction Verizon takes in this segment and is involved in major sales activities and proposals.

Prior to this, Zeleniak was Group Vice President for Verizon Federal, and previously Regional Vice President for Civilian Markets for MCI which was acquired by Verizon Communications in January 2006. In this role, she led a team delivering solutions, applications and network services to federal agencies. Her team focused on increasing customer satisfaction and improving customer loyalty, and customer satisfaction scores improved every year. Prior to this, she worked as a sales director in Government Markets for the company, being appointed in February 1999.

In May 2012 Zeleniak won the 13th Annual Women in Technology Leadership Award in the category of Public Sector’s large business. The award, presented by the nonprofit organization, Women In Technology, honors women who demonstrate exemplary leadership traits at a corporation that services federal and state/local government organizations.

She is a board member of the Joshua Foundation, and an active Member of SALT, a faith-based group that assists the poor. Zeleniak is also a member of the board of the United Service Organizations (USO), a non-profit agency offering support services to American military personnel and their families. She has a Commissioners Award from the Social Security Administration and a 2001 Partnership Award from the General Services Administration for Federal Technology Services.
