George Komatsoulis

Deputy Director, Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology, National Cancer Institute

George A. Komatsoulis, Ph.D. Is Deputy Director of the National Cancer Institute's Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT). He has served in a variety of roles in government, the private sector and academia that span the full range of biomedical research and development, biomedical informatics and the provision of advanced information technology capabilities. He has a Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry from the California Institute of Technology and did post-doctoral work in the Department of Biochemistry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Department of Mathematics at the University of Southern California. Prior to coming to the NCI, Dr. Komatsoulis was a senior bioinformatics scientist at Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (now part of GlaxoSmithKline).
