Gina Loften



Vice President, Watson Transformations, Public Sector, IBM

Gina Loften is a Vice President in IBM’s Watson Group, Global Public Sector. Watson is one of IBM’s most significant innovations in the company’s 100-year history. It is charged with accelerating a new class of software, services and apps that think, learn and will fuel a diverse cloud-based ecosystem of enterprises, tech companies and entrepreneurs. Ms Loften is specifically responsible for bringing this next generation of cognitive systems to the Global Public Sector to help transform the industry and change the way that people perceive and use information for their clients, constituents and missions.

Prior to this role, Ms. Loften was Vice President, Partner and the Chief Technology Officer of IBM’s GBS North America Consulting Services. IBM's NA Consulting business covers the US Public Sector (US Federal, State and Local governments, public and private education, and healthcare organizations) , the US Commercial Sectors (Financial Services, Distribution, Industrial, and Communications) and Canada. In this role, Ms Loften led the charge in driving industry-specific solutions into high-growth areas such as Business Analytics, Smarter Commerce, Smarter Cities, Social Business and Cloud.

Gina’s 20+ year career at IBM has involved technical and leadership roles around the world in IBM’s Hardware, Software, Research and Services businesses. She is known as a trusted advisor to her clients and for her passion for helping them realize value from their technology investments, improving their business performance, and simplifying the way their people and partners collaborate and work.

Gina joined IBM in 1992 after graduating from North Carolina Agricultural and State University in Electrical Engineering.

She now lives and works in the Washington DC area.
