DiJon Ferdinand

Small Business Programs Administrator, Acquisition Systems,
Planning and Policy Branch, Acquisitions Division, U.S. Census Bureau

Although DiJon Franklin Ferdinand is no stranger to his place of birth in St. Croix, U.S., Virgin Islands, he has been a resident of Prince Georges County in Largo, Maryland for over 20 years now. It was in Prince Georges County he received the majority of his formal education and later Baltimore, Maryland where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration at Morgan State University in 2001.

DiJon F. Ferdinand Sr., started his professional career at the Department of Commerce’s U.S. Census Bureau shortly upon graduating from undergraduate school. It was at the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2002, DiJon was introduced to the world of contracts. Because of his ongoing interest in contracts, DiJon further pursued his education by earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Acquisitions/Procurement from Webster University in 2006.

While working at the U.S. Census Bureau, DiJon is privileged to wear many different hats, working as a Branch Chief over Contract Operations, a Supervisory Level III Certified Contracting Officer and the Small Business Representative. DiJon is a firm believer in delivering excellence in all aspects of life—work, education and family. DiJon thoroughly enjoys working on contracts and also being an advocate for small businesses, and will continue to be involved in promoting opportunities with Small, Medium, Large and Minority Owned Businesses. The latter will enable DiJon to find requirements within the Department of Commerce that can match the capabilities and value-added services that the businesses have to offer.
