Navigating the ITS Business Landscape

Companies looking to do IT business with the federal government need to understand how to do business with the General Services Administration’s Office of Integrated Technology Services.

ITS manages some of the most important governmentwide acquisition contracts in the federal market. That includes IT Schedule 70, which accounts for more than $14 billion in annual sales of products and services; the highly-anticipated, Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions program, a $50 billion program covering mandatory telecommunication services, as well as related IT services; and a slew of GWACs for large and small businesses, including the forthcoming Alliant 2, a comprehensive IT services contract that could be worth up to $50 billion over the next five years.

But beyond managing contracts, ITS plays a vital role in helping agencies across government to acquire the latest generation of IT products and services and to achieve their organizational goals. For example, the IT Schedule 70 program has led the way on key strategic sourcing initiatives, while also piloting the Schedule 70 FAST lane program, providing for expedited proposal review and automated schedule price reductions from vendors. ITS also has taken a lead role in supporting the federal government’s adoption of cloud technology.

At this event attendees heard updates on initiatives from IT Schedule 70, the Government-wide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC) division, and the Cloud Computing Services Program Management Office.
