Federal agencies are beginning to realize the limits of current approaches to big data and other forms of advanced analytics.

These tools provide agencies with an unprecedented ability to extract more information from their vast stores of data. But more information does not always translate into better outcomes.

That is where artificial intelligence comes into play. AI makes it possible for an analytic program to learn as it goes, leading to more accurate analysis and more useful insights.

Gartner has identified four tiers of analytic capabilities: Descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive. AI, machine learning, and similar technologies can help agencies achieve that fourth tier: smarter decision-making.

This event will provide federal data experts with an understanding of how their agencies might benefit from the integration of AI and advanced analytics.

Potential topics to be addressed include:

  • When and how AI can make a difference (and when it won’t)
  • The different roles for—and intersection of—human thinking and machine analysis
  • The state of the AI-driven analytics market
